Opening of the screening FILMS BY ANNA ZETT
Two films by Anna Zett are the focus of horizontal vertigo’s fifth screening program at JSC Düsseldorf. Zett’s interdisciplinary practice combines dense historical research with personal associations and interventions, spanning video, performance, installation, audio plays, and writing. The video works featured here, This Unwieldy Object (2014) and Endarchiv (2019), examine how shifts in power and ideology are simultaneously inscribed in the body, psyche, and earth, subject to material processes of erosion and erasure. Taking what remains as their point of departure, Zett asks: how do human bodies perform, come to terms with, document, and resist these shifts?
FILMS BY ANNA ZETT is part of HORIZONTAL VERTIGO, a year-long program of solo exhibitions, performances, screenings, and events at the Julia Stoschek Collection Düsseldorf and Berlin, curated by Lisa Long.
